PLEASE NOTE: iTextSharp is EOL, and has been replaced by iText 7. Only security fixes will be added
IText 5.5.13 is a maintenance release that rolls up 4 bugfixes for iText 5 Core from the past 5 months. As of this release XFA Worker is no longer supported on.NET 2.0 - instead you need to use.NET 4.0. Support has been added for License Key Library 3.0.1.

iTextSharp 4.04.0 License

Hi all,
I would like to use iTextSharp 4.04.0 in my web application for creating pdf file on the fly.
![4.0.8 4.0.8](https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L_gwNm4jtSk/VsYBdtR_r9I/AAAAAAAAAPA/hgoqWlZL0dg/s320/reactOS040.png)
I check in iTExtSharp Web site (http://itextpdf.com/terms-of-use/index.php) that by using this dll i need to make code open to public. Their statement is as per below:
Buying such a license is mandatory as soon as you develop commercial activities involving the iText software without disclosing the source code of your own applications. These activities include: offering paid services to customers as an ASP, serving PDFs on the fly in a web application, shipping iText with a closed source product.
However i find out in 4 guys from rolla website, the statement below state that any version lower than 5 are totally free to use without $$ and having code to release to public.
However, it's important to keep in mind that starting with version 5.0, iTextSharp is released under the GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL) version 3. This license requires that any application that uses iTextSharp must also be released under the same license and that you must make your application's source code freely available (like iTextSharp's is). You can optionally buy a license to be released from the AGPL. While version 5.0 (and beyond) is released under the more restrictive AGPL, previous versions were released under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL), which allows the use of iTextSharp within an application without requiring that the application also be released under the LGPL. In other words, by using version 4 or earlier you can use iTextSharp in your web application without having to buy a license and without having to release your web application's source code.
My question is :
(1).I am not able to find out official lisense statement of iTextSharp of verion lower than 5. I need their official statement of verison lower than 5 so that i can procced to use their dll. I have surfed their web site but i can't find any information on this.
Can anyone help?
Please ......
